The Special National Historical Site of the 1950 Border Victory, located in Dong Khe and Duc Long communes, about 40 km from the provincial center, is closely associated with the revolutionary activities of President Ho Chi Minh and General Vo Nguyen Giap. This is the only place in the history of the resistance against the French and Americans where President Ho Chi Minh directly went to the front lines to command the campaign.
Currently, this site is divided into four historical clusters, including: the cluster of historical sites dedicated to President Ho Chi Minh and the 1950 Border Campaign victory (Duc Long commune); the cluster of historical sites at Dong Khe stronghold; the cluster of historical sites at Khau Luong; and the cluster of historical sites at Coc Xa - Hill 477 (Dong Khe commune).
In addition to visiting valuable historical sites, tourists can conquer Bao Dong mountain – where President Ho Chi Minh directly observed and commanded the campaign. Today, a monument depicting President Ho Chi Minh observing the Dong Khe battle has been built at that location (modeled after a photograph by artist Vu)." Nang An). The path leading up to the observation deck consists of 846 stone steps, divided into 79 sections, symbolizing the 79 springs of the Person's life.
