Ban Gioc Waterfall, located in Dam Thuy commune, is about 92 km from the provincial center. It is considered the largest natural waterfall in Southeast Asia, the 4th largest waterfall in the world among waterfalls located on the border between countries, and is among the Top 21 most beautiful waterfalls in the world. It was recognized as a national scenic spot in 1998.
Ban Gioc Waterfall is about 300 m wide, consisting of a main waterfall and a smaller waterfall. The main waterfall has 3 tiers and is located on the Vietnam-China border, while the smaller waterfall is entirely within Vietnamese territory. This waterfall is a masterpiece of the Quay Son River, where the gentle stream meanders through the fields before suddenly cascading down from a height of over 30 m in a white sheet, creating an impressive highlight in a majestic mountainous region.
